Listening to one carol after another is like turning the pages of a lavishly illustrated Christmas Book. All of the characters, colors, fragrances of the season. The shepherds’ praise and wonder, the angels’ glorias, the lavish gifts of the magi. Joseph and Mary brought the faith, fears, and fantasies of new parents. The animals offered space in a manger and soothing nighttime sounds. The infant brought divine love for all.

In these thoughtful arrangements of Roth's, he employed six strings in a variety of keys, rhythms, alternative tunings, and textures to sing his own heartfelt response.
